Mary McLaren was last with a man
she met in Fat Sam's nightclub

Police are to reconstruct the last known movements of a mother who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Mary McLaren, 34, disappeared in the early hours of 25 February after a night out in Dundee with her sister.

She was photographed in Fat Sam's nightclub dancing with a man, later identified by police after the image was released to the public.

A Tayside Police spokeswoman said the man, first questioned on Monday, was still assisting them.

The last confirmed sighting of mother-of-three Ms McLaren was with a man in Marketgait East, near to its junction with King Street, at about 0300 GMT.

The pair were captured several times on CCTV before this time.

During the reconstruction, three police officers will dress as Ms McLaren, her sister and the man, who police have not named.

The re-enactment will show Ms McLaren and her sister leaving the Gauger Bar in Dundee's Seagate and making their way to Fat Sams nightclub in South Ward Road.

The filming will then follow the missing woman's movements after leaving Fat Sams and walking to Marketgait East.

Det Ch Insp Shaun McKillop, who is leading the inquiry, said he hoped the reconstruction would trigger somebody's memory.

He also appealed to people in the area to check their properties for evidence that Ms McLaren was there.

He said: "We need to know if anyone has found any items of clothing or possessions belonging to Mary.

"On the night of her disappearance she was wearing a distinctive black and white leopard print dress, black leggings, a white duffel coat and flat black shoes.

"She was carrying a small black handbag, a pink floral umbrella, and a pink adult inflatable toy."

Det Ch Insp McKillop said more than 50 officers and police staff are dedicated in the hunt for Ms McLaren.

"The level of resources and the scale of this investigation reflects our concern for Mary," he added.
