With you there, Lesley! A woman, who happens to be a mother, and her sister go for a night out, she likes dancing so they go to a night club and the citizenry feel free to make all sorts of aspersions on her character and carry on like Victorian moral campaigners on speed. And how many men who happen to be fathers were in Fat Sam's that night with their mates and not their wife or partner?? Ah but that's different, eh?
Well stuff you, guys! I - and any other woman, married or single - am perfectly entitled to engage in any lawful pursuit as and when I think fit without having to ask the permission of a prattle of Pecksniffs or anyone else!! I am sad for Mary, her family and friends.
And, kerter, I wish you wouldn't use the expression 'mong' with the connotation you do. You are very well informed on world affairs and you must be aware not only of the long and oppressed history of the Mong people but of their current difficulties in Burma and Laos (did Al Jazeera not do a piece about that the other week?)
