Here is a copy of a letter I have sent in to the Evening Telegraph, whether it will be printed or not is a different story:
'On her way to work one morning last week, my sister witnessed what can only be described as a sickening, horrific attack on a defenceless dog.
On the waste ground behind the Whitfield Labour Club, she heard shouting and a commotion ensuing from behind some bushes. On walking on further, she noticed a man dressed in a camouflage jacket and jeans shouting at the top of his voice, punching and kicking a copper coloured staffie type dog in the face and body. The dog was howling and screaming in agony so I am certain someone else must have seen or heard this. There was a blonde haired woman with the man standing by watching this attack!
My sister shouted to the man "what do you think you're doing to that dog", and told him to stop, to which he replied "what the f**** has it got to do with you". She told him she was going to inform the police and with that both the man and woman jumped into a silver coloured car which drove up from behind.
Unfortunately she was too shocked to get the registration number of the car, but she would recognise this man and his accomplice again.
What is wrong people that they think it is acceptable to attack their pets like this?
I am disgusted and deeply saddened by this, I hope this vile twosome get their comeuppance. I urge anyone who may recognise this pair's description to report them to the RSPCA or the Police.'
Fingers crossed it will be printed
